Duty of Care of Employers and Educators
Duty of Care implies the legal, moral and ethical obligations that organisations have to their employees and members.
With organisations’ growing concern on Duty of Care in Hong Kong, since 2015 the Employers' Federation of Hong Kong and the International SOS Foundation joined hands to promote an open dialogue on employers’ Duty of Care.
In 2017, the inaugural full-day Duty of Care Conference was held to provide a platform that facilitated constructive discussions on solutions for health and security-related risks at workplace and in work-related overseas travels. It aims to act as a springboard for dialogue among employers, employee representatives, and authorities with a view to enhance employers' awareness.
In view of the growing number of students going on international travels, we also encourage discussions regarding health, safety and security risks and challenges faced by educational institutions. To promote educators' sharing, a blog was launched in February 2019.
